Sweet Reunion

It all started with an innocent question, “Do you know any families who would be willing to host an Ethiopian orphan this spring?”

Less than six months later there was a little girl in their midst who was slowly working her way into their hearts.

On Saturday, almost a year later, she came home forever.

The sweetest thing was to see these newly reunited sisters make a beeline for each other at first sight.  It was like there was no one else in the world.

A reunion with another little friend made the scene even sweeter.

Boy, does it feel good to be home!

I see the beginnings of a long, sweet friendship.

Welcome home, M!

Oh my! What an outstanding way to start my day. Melissa, thank you so much for sharing this memory with us. To put images to my brother, David and sister, Lisa’s words, is truly a treasure for me. Having my newest niece, Marnesh back in my Hello Kitty world is precious. I thank you for all that you have done to help make this possible. Later this same Saturday afternoon, all the children were so excited to show me all the balloons and streamers their home was decorated with for the homecoming. What a marvelous experience to have in my lifetime! Thank you, Suz

Thanks for sharing such a lovely homecoming with us and the simple joy of a smile of one who has finally found her home. Marnesh is a beautiful child and I expect will become fast friends with Elizabeth. May God bless all of your family and trust that He will meet all of your needs.

My prayers are with you-Laurie & David

  11. I have been kept up to date thanks to Gwen and am getting this in a coffeeshop – the only thing keeping me from dissolving into a puddle is the crowd… and even so, I’m having a tough time. SO happy for you all and can’t even begin to express how poignant and touching your story is. I hope to meet Marnesh! Love to you all!
